Tripura now equipped with advance fire service systems, CM
The state government has given importance over modernization of fire services and the state is now moving forward with newly adopted advance technologies to protect the valuable human lives and their properties, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
Inaugurating the newly constructed building of Tripura Fire Service Training School and Basic training programme of Civil Defence Volunteers at Fire Service Training School at Matripally area of Badharghat on Monday, Dr Saha said since inception of Fire Service department, they are contributing their relentless services to protect the lives and properties of people and now a days, firefighters are also playing an important rule to save the lives during road traffic accidents.
Mentioning great services of firefighters, in which three firefighters suffered serious burn injuries during an incident held at Sabroom, the Chief Minister said that there are lots of instances of unprecedented bravery of firefighters and for their gallantry saving of thousands of lives.
“We are very much proud of the meritorious and gallantry services of firefighters and they are the friends of people who are in distress,” said Chief Minister and added that their presence gives us hope even during an unfortunate situation.
While highlighting the subjects included in the Fire Service training school, Dr Saha said that these will be useful techniques to tackle any kind of possible disaster and urges the authorities to include subjects for primary treatment during disaster management.
Appreciating the rule of Civil Defence volunteers and their tireless services during Covid pandemic, Dr Saha said that the government, considering their services towards the society, is now contemplating plans for their wellbeing. He also urged Fire Service authorities to verify all aspects before giving a no-objection certificate for construction of multi-storey buildings. Dr Saha also appreciated the rule of Fire Service Minister Ram Prasad Paul for modernization of the department.
Speaking in the inaugural programme, the Fire and Emergency Service Minister said that after the formation of the present government in the state, the state’s Fire Service Act has been enacted and the government has also introduced salary for 13 months for all Fire Service employees with provision for their dress allowances.
He said that the services of the Fire Service and Emergency department have been extended and now they are providing all kinds of emergency services along with accidents and fire related incidents. He also assured the gathering that more modernization steps will be taken for more upgraded services in the department.
During the inauguration programme, local MLA Mimi Majumder. Director of the Fire Service department Apurba Roy and special secretary Anindya Kumar Bhattacharjee also delivered their speeches highlighting the great services of firefighters.
At the concluding part of the programme, for meritorious services few firefighters were also awarded and they also showed the fire relief and disaster management drills.
